    I Miss You

    You don’t need a Medium to get a message from your loved one. You just need to be more present and watch for the signs. They send signs ALL THE TIME. We just don’t notice them. I got a really good example of the signs they send yesterday morning.

    I went for a run and allowed songs to come on at random. I no longer use a specific playlist like I used to. No matter what app you use, this is the best way to let spirit control what you hear. I don’t run with earbuds so I can be aware of what is around me. I keep the music relatively quiet because I don’t want to disturb anyone else that is out walking or running, for the most part it’s just background noise to help keep me going. A song by Miley Cyrus started playing and I would normally skip a song from her, but I decided to just leave it on. I didn’t really pay attention to what it was until I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. I thought it was a text message, but when I looked there was no notification, all I saw was the little square with the title of the song and it said, “I Miss You.” I shut my phone back off and then thought, “Wait, what time is it?” I looked at my phone again and it said 7:12. 7:12 is my Dad’s birthday, July 12. I instantly knew it was him sending me a sweet, simple message.

    If you miss someone and want to communicate with them, think about the numbers or key words that correspond to your loved ones. When you go about your day, pay attention to when you get the urge to look at the time. Do the numbers represent your loved one? When you are driving, if you happen to glance at a license plate, does it mean anything to you? When you hear a song that reminds you of your loved one, look at the time or look around for a sign near you that might be a symbol of them. You would be surprised about the number of times throughout the week you will get little hellos from the other side. 

    If they know you are more aware of what is around you, they will send you even more signs. Think about it. Maybe it’s been years since your loved one has passed. They may have sent you tons of signs after they passed, but you ignored them. So they started sending less signs. They still try every once in a while, but I mean, what’s the point if you aren’t noticing them? But, now you are awake and realize you need to pay attention. You. Will. Get. Signs.

    Oh Chariot

    I was never quite sure about Mediums. I had never had a reading, but watched them on TV and felt that a lot of them were phony. I never believed John Edward or James Van Praagh. For some reason when I was a child Silvia Browne seemed somewhat real, but not completely. Theresa Caputo sometimes gives me chills when I watch her and I somewhat believe in her as well. In February of this year, I read that anyone can be a Medium, it just takes a lot of hard work and maybe a little natural ability. I decided to find out if that was true. The only way I was going to know for sure that someone can be a medium and connect to the other side was to try it myself, so that’s what I did.

    For starters, I believed I had a slight natural ability. I had always had “visits” in dreams from people who had passed. They felt real and they sent me very important messages sometimes. I missed my loved ones and would dream about them a lot, but the dreams where they would “visit” me were different. They would be in my dream, not speaking a word, but I just knew what they were trying to tell me.

    As a child, I also had a spirit come stand over my bed often. I could feel them, standing over me, looking at me. It scared the hell out of me. I would cover my head until morning. Eventually it stopped. I think I blocked out any and all ability to connect with the dead because I was a chicken.

    I decided to stop being afraid. I read a couple of books and meditated a lot. I read one more that told me to just be still, meditate, and see what came to me for 30 days. I didn’t think I would get much out of it, but, slowly I did. One of the first messages I received was just the lyrics to a song about using God to gain strength and it just spoke to me. It felt like the type of message I would get in my dreams. The song was “Oh Chariot” by Gavin Degraw. A day or two later (I should have written it down) I received a message while I was driving that when I would receive messages I would receive them through lyrics. I wasn’t sure if I should believe it or not, but I spent the rest of my drive thinking about how that would all work out and what would I call myself if I wanted to do this for real? Musical Medium? Lyrical Medium? When I started this website I googled musical medium and apparently there is a woman who went through a similar experience as me (as far as getting messages through music) and she calls herself the Musical Medium. So I decided I would be the Lyrical Medium.

    The last book I read was The Awakened Way: Making the Shift to a Divinely Guided Life by Suzanne Giesemann. I highly suggest this book if you would like to find the truth and connect to your loved ones as well. Suzanne explains everything very well and includes simple practices in the book to help you to connect to the other side.

    As I continued to meditate and really focus on connecting to the other side, my abilities improved. I’ve watched Mediums on TV and they seem to connect so easily and they are given loads of information. This has not been my experience, yet. So far, what I receive has been simple, but the messages are sometimes all the person I am reading needs for validation that their loved one is still around. It sometimes comes to me as a puzzle, but the moment it all comes together I get chills down my spine and sometimes all over my body. I have learned that for me, so far, I usually only receive five or six key words that point to who the person is and/or show that they around the person I am reading and a lyric or two from a song that gives a special message. I feel like I receive a lyric because it can help them express what they have to say in a better way than only just a few words can. Maybe I will receive more when I get better or maybe that is all they can really tell us, that is what I am practicing to find out.
